Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Membership Support Assistant to join our professional team at our Truganina office. This crucial role is the first point of contact for many of our members, providing vital administrative and support services. You will be instrumental in ensuring our members receive timely and accurate information, managing membership records, and assisting with various projects to enhance member engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for making a difference in the not-for-profit sector. Full training on our systems and specific member support protocols will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Maintain and update member databases and records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process new membership applications, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of member engagement activities and events.
  • Prepare and distribute membership communications, including newsletters and announcements.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider team, including data entry, scheduling, and report generation.
  • Handle member feedback and complaints with empathy and efficiency, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of membership support processes and systems.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with an keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A genuine commitment to customer service and member satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer support role, preferably within a not-for-profit or membership-based organization.
  • Familiarity with CRM software or membership management systems.
  • Understanding of and empathy for issues faced by people who are blind or have low vision.
