Job Description
We are seeking energetic and ocean-loving individuals to join us as a Dive Boat Helper for the upcoming summer season. This is an excellent entry-level position perfect for those looking to gain experience in the marine tourism industry. You’ll be an integral part of our daily operations, ensuring our divers and snorkelers have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable time on the water. Full training will be provided, so no prior dive or boat experience is necessary – just a great attitude and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting divers and snorkelers with gear setup, entry, and exit from the boat.
- Helping with the general preparation and cleanup of the dive boat before and after trips.
- Organising and maintaining dive and snorkel equipment, ensuring it's clean and in good working order.
- Acting as a friendly point of contact for guests, providing assistance and answering questions.
- Supporting the skipper and dive master with on-deck duties and ensuring guest safety at all times.
- Performing light cleaning and general upkeep of the vessel.
Required Skills
- A strong, positive work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for the marine environment and outdoor work.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical fitness and comfort working on and around water.
- Must have valid working rights in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- An Australian boating license (e.g., Recreational Skipper's Ticket).
- Entry-level dive certification (e.g., Open Water Diver).
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality.
