Job Description

We are offering an exciting Clinical Placement opportunity for aspiring Rehabilitation Therapy professionals in Palmerston City, NT. This placement is designed to provide hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare setting, working alongside experienced therapists to support patient recovery and improve quality of life. Participants will gain practical skills in patient assessment, treatment planning, and intervention delivery, contributing to real patient outcomes. This is an ideal chance to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context and build a strong foundation for a career in rehabilitation therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified rehabilitation therapists in daily patient care activities.
  • Observe and participate in patient assessments and treatment sessions.
  • Learn to document patient progress and contribute to treatment plans.
  • Engage with patients and their families, providing support and information.
  • Maintain a clean and organised clinical environment.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and patient confidentiality protocols.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or a related rehabilitation science field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a patient-centered approach.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous volunteer experience in a healthcare or community setting.
  • Completion of relevant foundational coursework in rehabilitation sciences.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
