Job Description

Join the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet as State Department Staff within our Career Progression Program. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about public service and eager to develop a rewarding career within the New South Wales government. You will gain hands-on experience across various departmental functions, contributing to key government initiatives and policy implementation in the Griffith region. This program is designed to provide comprehensive training and mentorship, equipping you with the skills and knowledge essential for advancement within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research, analysis, and preparation of briefs, reports, and presentations on various policy matters.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of community engagement initiatives and local projects.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, community groups, and local businesses.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks, ensuring efficient operation of regional office functions.
  • Participate in training and development programs designed for career advancement within the department.
  • Undertake special projects as directed by senior staff, developing new skills and expertise.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Law, or a related field (or currently pursuing).

  • Familiarity with the socio-economic landscape and community needs of the Griffith region.
