Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Hervey Bay. In this role, you will be instrumental in assessing and mitigating credit risk across various financial products and portfolios within our financial sector operations. You will be responsible for conducting thorough credit assessments, developing and implementing risk models, and providing insightful recommendations to support sound lending decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and credit assessments of individual and corporate clients.
- Utilize statistical analysis and financial modeling techniques to quantify credit risk.
- Monitor existing credit portfolios for early warning signs of deterioration and adherence to credit policies.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports, risk summaries, and presentations for management.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with lending officers, sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of credit risk methodologies, tools, and systems.
- Stay informed about market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting credit risk.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 36 months (3 years) of experience in credit risk analysis, financial analysis, or a similar role within the financial services industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis and credit assessment techniques.
- Experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Understanding of banking products, credit lifecycle, and regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM).
- Experience with credit risk modeling software and portfolio management systems.
- Knowledge of Australian financial regulations (e.g., APRA guidelines).
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
