Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our state-of-the-art campus in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable working environment for all employees, managing vendors, budgets, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of facilities operations, including maintenance, repairs, security, cleaning, and groundskeeping.
  • Develop and implement facilities management programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage facilities budgets, forecast expenditures, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of facilities staff and contractors.
  • Plan and execute space management and office relocation projects.
  • Implement sustainable practices and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Respond to and resolve facility-related issues and emergencies promptly.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in facilities management in a corporate or campus environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and vendor negotiation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., IWFM, BIFM, CFM).
  • Experience with smart building technologies and sustainable practices.
  • Proficiency with facilities management software (CAFM).
