Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Human Resources (HR) Director to lead our HR department in Oshawa. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our overall business objectives, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with all labor laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to the executive team, driving initiatives in talent management, organizational development, compensation, and employee relations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership on all human capital matters.
- Manage the talent acquisition process to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
- Implement and manage effective performance appraisal systems that drive high performance.
- Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversee employee relations, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
- Prepare and manage the HR budget and departmental expenditures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Director or in a similar senior HR leadership role (minimum 8 years).
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and current employment legislation (Canadian context preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR management tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (MBA).
- CHRP/CHRL certification (Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader).
- Experience working in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Experience managing HR in a multinational organization.
