Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner (GP) to join our esteemed primary care team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced GP to play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality primary medical services, managing a diverse patient caseload, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our healthcare provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert general medical services to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, physical examinations, and investigations.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with professional guidelines.
- Manage a diverse and complex patient caseload, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate referrals to secondary care or specialist services.
- Contribute to preventive healthcare initiatives, including immunisations, screenings, and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
- Participate in regular clinical governance meetings, audits, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all relevant GMC guidelines, ethical standards, and Trust policies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior medical staff and students as required.
Required Skills
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.
- Inclusion on the GMC GP Register (or eligible for inclusion).
- Vocational Training Certificate for General Practice (CCT or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience as a practicing General Practitioner.
- Excellent clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Special interest or additional qualifications in a particular area of medicine (e.g., mental health, women's health, minor surgery).
- Experience in medical education or supervision of trainees.
- Participation in clinical audit and quality improvement projects.
- Leadership experience within a primary care setting.
