Job Description
As a Water Damage Restoration Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our emergency response team, assisting with all phases of water damage mitigation and restoration projects. This physically demanding position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in challenging environments. You will be part of an on-call roster, responding to emergencies outside of standard business hours, with significant opportunities for overtime pay. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. We are looking for reliable individuals eager to learn and contribute to our mission of restoring peace of mind to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls on an on-call roster basis.
- Assist in the setup and execution of water extraction, drying, and dehumidification processes.
- Learn to identify and categorize different types of water damage.
- Demolish and remove damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
- Clean and maintain equipment, vehicles, and the work environment.
- Perform basic structural drying tasks under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with team members and project managers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor with clients.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Willingness to work an on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Basic literacy and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is a plus.
- IICRC certifications (e.g., WRT, ASD) are advantageous but not required, as full training will be provided.
- High school diploma or GED.
