Job Description
CGI is seeking a passionate and skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team in Val-d’Or. This unique opportunity is open to talented individuals globally, as we are offering international sponsorship to bring the best minds to Canada. As an SRE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our critical systems and applications. You will work on automating operational tasks, implementing robust monitoring solutions, and contributing to incident response and post-mortems to continuously improve our infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure.
- Develop and implement automation for operational tasks, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Monitor system health and performance, establish KPIs, and create alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem activities.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features and services are designed for operational excellence.
- Continuously improve existing systems and processes through automation, tooling, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of SRE principles and standards across the organization.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Solid understanding of scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A passion for automation and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate).
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing).
- Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
