Job Description
Join Spire Healthcare in Macclesfield as a Triage Nurse, where you will be at the forefront of patient care, assessing needs and directing patients to appropriate medical services. This crucial role involves utilizing your clinical expertise to provide initial assessments, advice, and support over the phone or in person, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care pathways. You will be a key point of contact, managing patient flow and contributing significantly to patient safety and satisfaction within our dedicated team. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled nurse ready to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments via telephone or in-person to determine urgency and appropriate care.
- Provide expert nursing advice and health information based on clinical protocols.
- Prioritize patient needs and direct them to the most suitable healthcare professional or service.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and recommendations accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients on health conditions, medication, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Required Skills
- Current NMC registration (RN/Adult Nurse).
- Demonstrable experience in a clinical setting, ideally with some triage experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in medical record documentation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telephone triage systems.
- Additional qualifications in advanced assessment or minor illness.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
