Job Description
Join Stage Electrics as a Special Effects (SFX) Workshop Assistant and embark on an exciting journey into the world of creative fabrication. This entry-level role is perfect for an enthusiastic and hands-on individual with a passion for bringing imaginative concepts to reality. You will work closely with our experienced SFX technicians and designers, assisting in the construction, maintenance, and preparation of a diverse range of special effects for various projects. Key Responsibilities
- Assist SFX technicians with the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of props, scenic elements, and special effect mechanisms.
- Support in the preparation and maintenance of workshop tools, equipment, and materials.
- Help with the safe handling, storage, and inventory of SFX components and consumables.
- Contribute to the setup, testing, and dismantling of special effects on-site as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations pertinent to SFX fabrication and operation.
- Assist with basic painting, sculpting, mould making, and material preparation tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider production team to ensure project deadlines are met.
