Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursing Home Registered Manager to lead one of our esteemed long-term care homes in Victoria, British Columbia. This pivotal role requires a compassionate leader with a strong clinical background and proven management skills to ensure the highest standards of resident care, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive daily operations of the nursing home, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with all provincial and federal regulations, including health and safety standards specific to British Columbia's long-term care sector.
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and supervision to a diverse multidisciplinary team, including nursing staff, care aides, and support personnel.
- Manage financial budgets, resources, and staffing levels judiciously to optimize resident care and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans, ensuring they meet the evolving needs and preferences of all residents.
- Champion and maintain the highest standards of resident care, safety, dignity, and well-being.
- Act as the primary liaison for residents, families, medical professionals, and external regulatory bodies.
- Implement and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, conducting regular audits and evaluations.
- Strategically manage admissions, discharges, and occupancy rates to maintain optimal facility utilization.
- Oversee human resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and disciplinary processes for all staff.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and empowering work environment that encourages professional growth and excellent teamwork.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and substantial management experience (minimum 5 years) within a long-term care or acute healthcare setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of provincial healthcare regulations and standards relevant to British Columbia.
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including budget development, management, and resource allocation.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively lead a large, diverse team.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare management software.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent healthcare professional registration, with eligibility for registration in British Columbia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business management, or a closely related field.
- Experience with quality management frameworks such as CIMS (Continuous Improvement Management System) or similar methodologies.
- Previous experience in a role involving international recruitment and providing relocation support to staff.
- Demonstrated success in achieving positive regulatory outcomes and maintaining high inspection ratings.
