Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years / Kindergarten Manager to lead our vibrant early learning center in Cedar Rapids, IA. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of our kindergarten program, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where young children can flourish. The Manager will be responsible for curriculum implementation, staff supervision and development, parent engagement, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the early years/kindergarten program.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curriculum in line with educational standards.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor early childhood educators and support staff.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment for all children.
  • Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and the wider community.
  • Manage program budget, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding child care and early education.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities.
  • Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and communications effectively and professionally.
  • Champion an inclusive and diverse environment where every child feels valued.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership and management experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development theories and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team of educators.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of state and local child care licensing regulations (Iowa preferred).
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Educational Leadership.
  • Experience with NAEYC accreditation processes.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish).
  • Experience managing a large early learning center (50+ children).
