Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team in Boise, Idaho. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our critical production systems. As an SRE, you will apply software engineering principles to infrastructure and operations problems, focusing on automation, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and improve tools for automation of operational tasks, deployment, and monitoring.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, and proactively address potential issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations to respond to and resolve production incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventative measures.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features are designed with reliability and operability in mind.
- Contribute to the development of disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) where applicable.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure components.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Ruby).
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and networking concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple layers of a technology stack.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience in the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
