Job Description
Join the Sobeys team in Camrose as an active Bottle Return Machine Emptier! This is a dynamic, on-site role perfect for individuals who enjoy staying active and contributing to the efficient operation of our store. You will be responsible for the continuous upkeep and maintenance of our bottle return area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and fully operational for our customers. This position requires physical stamina and a diligent approach to tasks, playing a crucial part in our store’s commitment to recycling and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly empty and sort contents from bottle return machines, ensuring continuous availability for customers.
- Operate balers or compactors safely and efficiently as required for recycling materials.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the bottle return area and surrounding premises.
- Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers experiencing issues with bottle return machines.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and operational policies.
- Promptly report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Assist with other general store duties as needed, contributing to overall store efficiency.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items repeatedly (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg).
- Demonstrated physical stamina and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued team member.
- Basic communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a retail environment or a physically active role.
- A customer-service oriented attitude.
- Familiarity with recycling processes and equipment operation.
