Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chemical Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sherbrooke, Quebec. As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing existing processes, designing new systems, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our chemical manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to predict performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Implement and monitor process control strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Analyze data from production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in hazard analysis (HAZOP) and safety reviews to ensure process integrity.
  • Evaluate new technologies and raw materials for process integration and product enhancement.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical process design, optimization, or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer
  • Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Hysys, PRO/II)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or eligibility for registration
  • Experience with advanced process control systems (DCS, PLC)
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Fluency in French (asset, but not required)
