Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our dynamic team in Boise. This critical role involves working with students with a range of special educational needs, developing individualized education programs (IEPs), and collaborating with parents, colleagues, and external specialists to ensure comprehensive support. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings (e.g., pull-out, push-in, co-teaching).
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students with SEN.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate records.
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, parents, school psychologists, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and involve them in educational planning.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement positive behavior intervention strategies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education (or eligibility for Idaho certification).
  • Proven experience working with students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Eligibility for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship and commitment to the visa process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education.
  • Experience with specific special education methodologies (e.g., ABA, PECS, Orton-Gillingham).
  • Experience in a diverse school setting.
  • Familiarity with Idaho State Special Education regulations.
