Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Architect to join our dynamic team in Dumfries, Scotland. The role involves managing project teams, liaising with clients, ensuring design quality, and providing technical leadership throughout all project phases. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and delivery of complex projects from conceptualisation through to completion.
  • Manage project teams, including architects, technologists, and consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Ensure design quality, technical excellence, and adherence to relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the professional development of the architectural team.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles and innovative technologies into all projects.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide construction administration support.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp).
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods.
  • Proven experience in leading and delivering architectural projects across multiple sectors.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with BIM methodologies and collaborative workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Chartered membership with a professional body (e.g., RIBA, ARB).
  • Accreditation in sustainable design (e.g., LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor).
  • Experience in specific sectors such as healthcare, education, or infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in parametric design tools (e.g., Grasshopper).
