Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced BI Developer to join our dynamic team in Preston. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust business intelligence solutions that transform complex data into actionable insights. You will work closely with various departments to understand their data needs, build efficient ETL processes, create compelling dashboards, and ensure the accuracy and accessibility of critical business information. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including data models, dashboards, and reports using tools like Power BI.
  • Write optimized SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Develop and manage ETL processes to integrate data from various source systems into data warehouses/marts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all BI deliverables.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing BI applications and reports.
  • Stay current with BI industry trends, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL with experience in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Proven experience with BI reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau).
  • Solid understanding and experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS).
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modelling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud-based BI platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
