Job Description
Stagecoach North West is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as Public Transit Bus Cleaners for the night shift. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our bus fleet, ensuring a pleasant and safe travel experience for thousands of daily passengers. This full-time position comes with comprehensive benefits and full training will be provided, making it an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking for secure employment. You will be an integral part of our operations, working diligently overnight to prepare our vehicles for the next day’s service across Chester and the wider Cheshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough interior cleaning of buses, including seats, floors, windows, and the driver's cab.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish appropriately, following waste management procedures.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces such as handrails, stanchions, and bell pushes to ensure a hygienic environment for passengers and staff.
- Clean exterior bus surfaces as required, including windows and mirrors, to maintain a professional appearance.
- Replenish onboard supplies such as litter bags, timetable holders, or information leaflets.
- Report any damages, graffiti, or maintenance issues identified during cleaning to the supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company cleaning protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night hours.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning equipment.
- Willingness to learn and consistently follow company procedures and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or industrial environment is advantageous, but not essential as full training is provided.
