Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Nursing to lead our esteemed nursing department in Medellín. This pivotal leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a strong clinical background, exceptional management skills, and a passion for elevating nursing standards. The Director of Nursing will be instrumental in optimizing patient care outcomes, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring operational efficiency across all nursing units. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with national and international standards.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance clinical practice and patient safety.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a professional and collaborative work environment.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and staffing levels to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departmental heads and medical staff to integrate nursing services into the overall strategic objectives of the clinic.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Represent the nursing department in executive meetings and contribute to strategic planning for the institution.
- Implement innovative nursing practices and technologies to improve patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Address and resolve patient and family concerns related to nursing care, maintaining a patient-first approach.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing management within a hospital or clinical setting.
- Proven track record of success in leading large teams and managing complex nursing operations.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and drive organizational change.
- Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- Valid Nursing License in Colombia (or ability to obtain upon relocation).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with international healthcare standards and accreditation processes (e.g., JCI).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.
- Experience managing nursing operations across multiple hospital units or facilities.
