Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and innovative Test & Validation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Orillia, Ontario. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our cutting-edge automotive products. You will be responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing comprehensive test plans for various components and systems, ensuring they meet rigorous industry standards and internal specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed test plans, procedures, and methodologies based on product specifications and industry standards.
- Design and set up test fixtures and equipment for various component and system tests.
- Execute physical and simulated tests, collect data, and meticulously document results.
- Analyze test data to identify anomalies, evaluate performance, and determine root causes of failures.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement corrective actions and design improvements.
- Prepare comprehensive test reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Participate in design reviews, FMEAs, and other quality-related activities.
- Stay abreast of new testing technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in test and validation engineering, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in data acquisition systems and analysis software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar).
- Strong understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with environmental testing (e.g., temperature cycling, vibration, humidity).
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS, IATF 16949).
- Experience in automated test system development.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles.
