Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and analytical Actuarial Pricing Intern to join our Life Insurance team in Kanata. This is an unparalleled opportunity for students passionate about actuarial science to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate environment. You will support the actuarial pricing process for various life insurance products, contributing to research, data analysis, and model development. This internship offers a comprehensive learning experience, working alongside experienced actuaries and gaining insights into the core of life insurance product development and risk management. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection, validation, and analysis of data used in actuarial pricing models.
- Support the development and maintenance of actuarial models and tools for life insurance product pricing.
- Conduct research on market trends, competitive analysis, and regulatory changes impacting life insurance products.
- Prepare and review actuarial reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, and risk management.
- Participate in special projects as assigned, contributing to process improvements and innovation.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong interest in the life insurance industry and actuarial principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of at least one SOA/CAS actuarial exam (e.g., Exam P, Exam FM).
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with actuarial software (e.g., GGY AXIS, Prophet).
- Previous experience in data analysis or financial modeling.
