Job Description
Sutter Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Nurses (NICU) to join our esteemed team in Roseville, CA. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonates requiring intensive monitoring and intervention.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and operate specialized equipment for neonates.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret laboratory results, and recognize changes in patient conditions.
- Educate and support families, providing comfort and guidance during their infants' hospitalization.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and contribute to care conferences.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control policies.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring ethical and culturally sensitive care.
Required Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in country of current practice (ability to obtain California RN license required).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certifications such as RNC-NIC (Registered Nurse, Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care).
- Experience with specialized NICU equipment (e.g., ventilators, nitric oxide, ECMO).
- Fluency in additional languages.
- Previous experience working in a culturally diverse healthcare setting.
