Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to lead our dynamic bar team in Katherine, Northern Territory. As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar operations, including staff management, inventory control, menu development, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a creative flair for cocktails, and a deep understanding of beverage trends and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
- Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Develop and update innovative drink menus, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, ensuring profitability and appeal.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and place orders with suppliers.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints efficiently and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Implement promotional activities to increase bar revenue and attract new customers.
- Ensure compliance with all liquor licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol practices.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bar management or supervisory role within a reputable hospitality establishment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and craft beers.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate specific to the Northern Territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management software.
- WSET or similar beverage certification.
- Local area knowledge and understanding of regional preferences in the Northern Territory.
