Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Service Recruitment Specialist with a talent focus to join our dynamic team in Reading. This role is pivotal in identifying, attracting, and securing top talent for our public sector clients. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies, managing the end-to-end recruitment process, and building strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive talent acquisition strategies for public sector roles.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from initial brief to offer negotiation and onboarding support.
  • Utilize various sourcing channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks, to identify passive and active candidates.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews and assessments to evaluate candidate suitability and cultural fit.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to hiring managers on recruitment best practices, market trends, and talent landscapes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and client records in the applicant tracking system.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to understand requirements and present suitable talent solutions.
  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives to attract diverse talent.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in recruitment, ideally within the public sector or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of public sector recruitment challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and engage with high-quality candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with strategic talent pipelining and workforce planning.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment law and recruitment compliance regulations.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional certification.
