Job Description
Are you a natural communicator with a passion for helping others solve technical issues? Telstra is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Helpdesk Assistant to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional support through chat-based interactions. We believe in empowering our employees, which is why we provide all the necessary IT equipment to ensure you have a comfortable and efficient home office setup. This is a 100% remote position, meaning you can work from anywhere in Australia, with the flexibility to manage your work-life balance while still being part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. Full training on our systems and products will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer support through chat-based communication channels.
- Assist customers with technical inquiries and troubleshoot common hardware and software issues.
- Guide users through step-by-step solutions for connectivity, device setup, and service-related problems.
- Log and track customer interactions and resolutions accurately in our ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to senior support technicians when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and strive for first-contact resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with product information and support procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of common computer hardware, software, and internet connectivity.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple chat conversations simultaneously.
- A customer-centric attitude with a desire to help.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection at home.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or support role (e.g., call centre, retail, online support).
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems or CRM software.
- A genuine interest in technology and eagerness to learn.
