Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Hotel Guest Service Agent to join our professional team at Rydges Mount Isa. This full-time role is essential for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a seamless experience for all our guests from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for hospitality. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to support our 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
  • Manage guest reservations, cancellations, and modifications with accuracy.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Process payments, manage cash float, and balance daily transactions.
  • Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven customer service experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel front desk or guest service role.
  • Knowledge of property management systems (PMS) such as Opera or Fidelio.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management.
  • Ability to communicate in a second language.
