Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a strong proficiency in Xero to join our team in Parramatta. This part-time role offers flexible hours, making it ideal for someone looking for local work that fits their lifestyle. You will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day financial operations for a diverse portfolio of small business clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable for multiple clients
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Process payroll and associated superannuation/tax obligations using Xero
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
- Generate financial reports including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records using Xero
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial matters
- Assist with end-of-financial-year preparations
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
- Expert-level proficiency with Xero accounting software
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting
- Registered BAS Agent status
- Experience with other accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks)
- Previous experience working with diverse small business clients
