Job Description

As a Junior Proposal Writer at Harworth Group, you will be instrumental in supporting our bid management team by crafting compelling and persuasive proposals, tenders, and presentations. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a proactive individual with excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail to kickstart their career in a thriving industry. You will learn the entire lifecycle of proposal development, from understanding client needs to final submission, contributing to winning new business and shaping the future of our communities. Full training and mentorship will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing, editing, and formatting proposal content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Support the coordination of proposal development, including gathering information from various internal stakeholders (e.g., project managers, technical experts).
  • Conduct research to support proposal development, including market analysis and competitor intelligence.
  • Maintain and update a library of standard proposal content, case studies, and corporate information.
  • Participate in review meetings, incorporating feedback to refine and improve proposal quality.
  • Proofread all materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
  • Help manage proposal submission deadlines and ensure timely delivery.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A keen interest in property development, regeneration, or the built environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience with content management systems or CRM software.
  • Basic understanding of bid and tender processes.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Canva) for presentation support.
