Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scrum Master to join our agile development teams in Plymouth. This role is crucial in fostering agile principles, facilitating ceremonies, removing impediments, and coaching teams to achieve their highest potential. You will be a servant leader, working closely with Product Owners, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality software solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant projects within a forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies effectively (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
  • Coach development teams in self-organisation and cross-functionality.
  • Help the team to focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
  • Remove impediments to the team’s progress.
  • Ensure the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
  • Lead and coach the organisation in its Scrum adoption.
  • Plan and facilitate release planning, ensuring alignment with product goals.
  • Track and communicate team metrics and progress to stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to remove impediments and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scaled agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
  • Technical background in software development or QA.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Additional agile certifications (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II).
  • Experience in the IT services or consultancy sector.
