Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of the exciting world of live theatre and events? Sunshine Theatre Logistics is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Event Bumping Assistants for casual night work. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are energetic, punctual, and ready to learn the ropes of stage production. As an Event Bumping Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in the physical setup and teardown of sets, lighting, sound equipment, and other stage elements. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. This is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working flexible night shifts that fit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of theatrical sets, props, lighting, and sound equipment.
- Participate in the assembly and disassembly of stage elements under supervision.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with the production team, stage managers, and other crew members.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization backstage and in storage areas.
- Perform general manual labor tasks as required to support event logistics.
- Arrive punctually for all scheduled shifts, primarily during evening and night hours.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Availability to work casual shifts, predominantly evenings and nights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in general labor, warehousing, or similar physically active roles.
- An interest in theatre, live music, or event production.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in stagecraft.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
