Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team in Norwich. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records for our clients, ensuring compliance and providing critical support to our accounting professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of bookkeeping tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of our client services department and playing a key role in client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information.
  • Generate financial reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAT qualification (Level 2 or 3).
  • Previous experience working in an accounting practice or similar fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with UK tax regulations, particularly VAT.
  • Experience with multiple client accounts simultaneously.
