Job Description
Toll Group is seeking an energetic and highly reliable Dispatch Runner to join our fast-paced warehouse team in Newcastle. This ongoing full-time role is crucial to the efficient flow of operations, ensuring that goods are moved quickly and accurately within the warehouse and prepared for dispatch. You will be responsible for assisting with the rapid retrieval, delivery, and organization of various items, directly supporting our dispatch operations and maintaining our high standards of service. Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly retrieve and deliver packages, documents, and other items within the warehouse to designated areas or personnel.
- Assist in the efficient loading and unloading of trucks and delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled safely and correctly.
- Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness in dispatch areas, ensuring all items are correctly sorted and stored.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and drivers to coordinate movements and resolve any issues promptly.
- Accurately check and verify items against dispatch lists or invoices to prevent errors.
- Operate warehouse equipment as required, such as pallet jacks (manual or electric), after appropriate training.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing items and documentation.
- Ability to thrive and maintain focus in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment.
- Excellent reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Australian driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (even minimal, e.g., 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical role.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management concepts.
- Experience operating manual or electric pallet jacks.
