Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organised Script Supervisor to join our dynamic video production team in Hervey Bay. The Script Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring continuity across all elements of our video projects, from pre-production through to post-production. This includes logging takes, tracking script changes, monitoring wardrobe, props, and set dressing, and maintaining detailed records to support the editing process. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the creative vision and technical accuracy of our productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive continuity logs for all visual and auditory elements during production.
- Accurately mark the script for camera takes, shot numbers, and dialogue changes.
- Monitor wardrobe, hair, makeup, props, and set dressing for consistency between shots.
- Provide detailed notes to the director and editor regarding performance, technical issues, and best takes.
- Manage daily reports, including shooting schedules, progress reports, and continuity sheets.
- Assist with script breakdown and timing during pre-production.
- Communicate effectively with the director, camera department, and other crew members to anticipate and resolve continuity challenges.
- Ensure all recorded material is properly slated and organised.
- Oversee script revisions and distribute updated versions to the crew.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated understanding of video production workflow and set etiquette.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Proficiency in script breakdown and continuity logging software (e.g., Scriptation, Continuity Pro).
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of camera angles, lenses, and editing principles.
- Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Experience working on professional video sets (television, film, commercials).
- Familiarity with local Hervey Bay and Fraser Coast geography for location scouting purposes.
