Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a welcoming and efficient service. You will play a crucial role in the smooth running of our clinic, managing appointments, handling patient queries, and supporting our dental team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care to thrive in a professional healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Managing the appointment book efficiently, scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments.
  • Answering telephone calls, responding to emails, and handling general patient inquiries.
  • Processing new patient registrations and updating existing patient records accurately.
  • Managing patient recall systems to ensure regular check-ups.
  • Handling payments, invoicing, and maintaining financial records.
  • Explaining treatment plans and practice policies to patients.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organised reception area.
  • Coordinating with dentists, hygienists, and dental nurses to ensure smooth patient flow.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in a customer service or reception role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and general office software.
  • A compassionate and patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional and presentable appearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., SOE Exact, Dentally).
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
  • First Aid qualification.
