Job Description

Are you ready for an adventure and eager to gain hands-on experience in Australia’s iconic outback? Southern Cross Pastoral Co. is seeking enthusiastic and resilient Mustering Offsiders to join our teams across various stations. This role is perfect for individuals looking to immerse themselves in the pastoral industry, learn the ropes of large-scale cattle mustering, and contribute to a vital part of Australian agriculture. You will work alongside experienced stockmen and women, experiencing the unique challenges and rewards of remote station life. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry point into the industry for those with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist head stockmen and stockwomen with all aspects of cattle mustering operations.
  • Participate in the humane handling, drafting, and moving of livestock.
  • Operate and maintain station equipment, including motorbikes, quad bikes, and vehicles (with training).
  • Help with general station duties, including fence repairs, water point checks, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Contribute to camp duties, including cooking and cleaning, as part of a team.
  • Adhere strictly to all animal welfare guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Learn and apply best practices in stock husbandry and land management.

  • Manual driver's license.

  • Experience with horses, motorbikes, or quad bikes is an advantage but not essential.
