Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Retrieval Coordinator to join our Emergency Health team in Palmerston, NT. In this critical on-site role, you will be responsible for the efficient coordination of emergency medical retrievals, ensuring seamless communication and logistics between medical teams, hospitals, and other stakeholders. Your ability to maintain calm under pressure, manage complex schedules, and facilitate rapid response will be key to saving lives and supporting our front-line personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the logistics of emergency medical retrievals, including ground and air transport.
  • Communicate effectively with medical teams, hospitals, and external agencies to ensure timely patient transfer.
  • Monitor and track retrieval missions, providing real-time updates to relevant personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of all retrieval activities and resource deployment.
  • Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with retrieval operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety protocols and organisational policies.
  • Assist in the scheduling and deployment of personnel and equipment for retrieval missions.
  • Provide administrative support to the emergency health operations team as required.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a coordination or logistics role, preferably within a healthcare or emergency services environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with diverse groups.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using dispatch and communication systems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • A strong understanding of emergency response principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications in emergency medical services, paramedicine, or dispatch operations.
  • Experience with medical terminology and healthcare systems.
  • Advanced First Aid Certificate or higher.
