Key Responsibilities

  • Assist site technicians with routine inspections and maintenance tasks of solar panels and associated equipment.
  • Support data collection and monitoring of solar farm performance, logging observations and assisting with basic analysis.
  • Participate in site safety briefings and adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Learn about the operational aspects of a utility-scale solar farm, including inverter stations, tracking systems, and grid connection points.
  • Assist with general site upkeep and organization, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by the site management team, providing opportunities for diverse learning.

Required Skills

  • A strong eagerness and willingness to learn about solar energy and large-scale renewable projects.
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability, renewable energy, or engineering.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks in an outdoor environment, including lifting up to 15kg and working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a tertiary program in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable), Environmental Science, Renewable Energy Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Possession of a valid Australian driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles or mechanical systems.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
