Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Stock Management Specialist to join our Elders team in Dandenong, Victoria. This vital role involves the efficient and ethical management of livestock inventory, ensuring optimal animal welfare, and maintaining accurate records within our operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily movements, health, and general well-being of various livestock, contributing significantly to the smooth operation of our facilities and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily stock movements, arrivals, departures, and internal transfers for various livestock types.
- Conduct regular physical stocktakes and reconcile inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure efficient stock rotation and minimize losses.
- Monitor livestock health and welfare, reporting any concerns to management and veterinary staff.
- Maintain meticulous records of livestock identification, treatments, feed consumption, and movements.
- Ensure strict compliance with all animal welfare standards, biosecurity protocols, and industry regulations.
- Operate and maintain livestock handling equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with farm managers, sales teams, and transport providers.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on stock levels, performance metrics, and inventory status.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in livestock handling and management.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail in inventory control.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current and valid Australian driver's license.
- Physical fitness to perform demanding outdoor and manual tasks associated with livestock management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or a related field.
- Experience with specialized livestock management software or inventory systems.
- Current forklift license.
- Basic knowledge of animal health and nutrition.
- First Aid certification.
