Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Community Transport Drivers to join our team in Oxford. In this rewarding part-time role, you will provide essential transport services to older adults, helping them attend medical appointments, social events, shopping trips, and other important engagements. This is more than just driving; it’s about providing a friendly face, a helping hand, and ensuring our clients feel safe, respected, and valued. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport older adults to various destinations, including appointments, social activities, and errands.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and alighting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained vehicle.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with passengers, staff, and volunteers.
  • Record mileage and passenger details accurately.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs or incidents promptly.
  • Be a friendly and supportive presence for our clients.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK driving licence with a clean record.
  • Minimum of 1 year professional driving experience (e.g., taxi, delivery, or community transport).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate attitude towards older adults.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of Oxford and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working or volunteering with older people.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of accessible transport best practices.
  • Experience driving a minibus or similar larger vehicle (not essential, but a plus).
