Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and physically capable individuals to join our Event Bumping Crew on a short-term, temporary basis. This role is crucial for the successful setup and breakdown of events, requiring significant physical effort and a strong team spirit. As a member of the bumping crew, you will be involved in all aspects of preparing our venue for major events and restoring it afterwards. This is an on-site position that requires reliable attendance and a willingness to work flexible hours, often including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work and hands-on experience in the events industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment, staging, lighting, sound, and other event materials.
- Setting up and dismantling various event structures, including seating, barriers, and temporary installations.
- Following all health and safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Working collaboratively with other crew members and event staff to meet tight deadlines.
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all working areas.
- Performing general manual labour tasks as required to support event operations.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to lift and carry heavy objects safely.
- A reliable and punctual work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to different tasks.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety (training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar physically demanding role, such as warehousing, construction, or event setup.
- A basic first aid qualification is a bonus.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other manual handling equipment.
