Job Description
We are immediately hiring dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Sorters to join our recycling plant team in Vaughan. As a Quality Sorter, you will play a critical role in our waste management process, ensuring that recyclable materials are accurately identified, sorted, and prepared for further processing. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for stable employment with a company committed to environmental stewardship. Full training will be provided, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be supplied to ensure your safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and sort various recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) from conveyor belts.
- Remove contaminants and non-recyclable items to ensure material purity.
- Operate sorting equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material flow and quality issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support plant operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different materials.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Basic understanding of recycling processes or environmental initiatives.
- First Aid and CPR certification (not required, but an asset).
