Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chartered Accountant to join our dynamic team in Leith, Edinburgh. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing expert financial advice and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality accounting services and contributing to our clients’ financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review statutory accounts and financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., FRS 102, IFRS).
- Manage and oversee audit engagements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to auditing standards.
- Provide comprehensive tax planning and compliance services, including corporate tax, personal tax, and VAT.
- Offer strategic financial advice to clients on business growth, mergers and acquisitions, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and financial regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support client decision-making.
Required Skills
- ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualification (Chartered Accountant status is essential).
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in an accounting practice or relevant industry role.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in tax compliance and planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various industry sectors.
- Demonstrable experience in client relationship management.
- A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Experience in financial modelling and forecasting.
