Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient 3D Print Technician to join our innovative Additive Manufacturing team in Ipswich. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and quality control of advanced 3D printing equipment. You will work with a variety of materials and technologies to produce high-precision components, contributing directly to groundbreaking projects in diverse industries. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for cutting-edge manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor industrial-grade 3D printers and post-processing equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of additive manufacturing systems.
- Prepare build files, manage print queues, and optimize print parameters for various materials.
- Conduct post-processing tasks including part removal, cleaning, support structure removal, and surface finishing.
- Perform quality control inspections on printed parts to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Manage material inventory, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of raw materials and waste.
- Document daily operations, maintenance activities, and production data accurately.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize designs for additive manufacturing and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Technical qualification or equivalent practical experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision machinery.
- Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for file preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating industrial 3D printers (e.g., SLA, FDM, SLS, DMLS).
