Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Aerospace Engineer to join our growing team in Penzance. This role is crucial for the design, analysis, and testing of complex aerospace systems and components. The successful candidate will work on challenging projects, from initial concept generation through to manufacturing support, ensuring all designs meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. You will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions for our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop aerospace components and systems using CAD software.
- Perform structural analysis, aerodynamic simulations, and system performance evaluations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management.
- Participate in testing and validation activities, analyzing results and implementing design improvements.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and structural mechanics.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software.
- Knowledge of aerodynamic principles and fluid dynamics.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.
- Project management experience in an aerospace context.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Experience with systems engineering methodologies.
