Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and organised APS5 Project Support Officer to join our dynamic team in Fremantle. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within the Australian Public Service, providing crucial support to project managers and contributing to the successful delivery of key regional development initiatives. You will be instrumental in ensuring project activities run smoothly, deadlines are met, and resources are effectively managed, all while upholding the highest standards of public service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and project support to project managers and team members.
- Assist in the development, monitoring, and reporting of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and track action items.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and databases.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with procurement processes, contract management, and financial reconciliation related to projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations.
- Identify and escalate potential project risks or issues to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years) in a project support or administrative role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with government project methodologies or frameworks.
- Understanding of the Australian Public Service context and values.
