Job Description
Are you passionate about global trade and looking to kickstart your career in international shipping? Mainfreight in Geelong is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Export Documentation Intern to join our dedicated team. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with no prior experience to gain hands-on knowledge of export processes, regulations, and documentation within a fast-paced logistics environment. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, learning the essential skills required to facilitate smooth international freight movements. This role is perfect for a highly motivated individual eager to learn the intricacies of the supply chain and contribute to a global operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of export documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
- Enter data accurately into our freight management systems.
- Communicate with carriers, agents, and internal teams to ensure timely information exchange.
- Support the team in tracking shipments and resolving minor documentation discrepancies.
- Learn and adhere to international shipping regulations and compliance standards.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the export department.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
