Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Automotive Design Engineer to join our growing team in Victorville, CA. In this role, you will be instrumental in the conceptualization, design, and development of cutting-edge automotive components and systems for our electric adventure vehicles. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects from initial concept through to production, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, manufacturing, and aesthetic requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for various automotive components and systems using industry-standard software.
  • Perform design analysis, including tolerance stack-ups, clearance studies, and basic kinematic analysis, to validate design integrity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability of designs.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, considering performance, cost, and sustainability objectives.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and implementing design iterations based on feedback and test results.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, analyzing data to identify areas for design improvement.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and internal specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and organized design documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, SolidWorks)
  • Strong understanding of automotive design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, casting)
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application
  • Ability to create and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in a collaborative team environment
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with CAE tools (FEA, CFD) for structural or thermal analysis
  • Prior experience in electric vehicle (EV) component design or integration
  • Knowledge of vehicle packaging, interior, exterior, or chassis design
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FMVSS, ECE, or similar
  • Experience working in a global or multicultural engineering environment
